Tony Marra - Athletic Trainer
Tony Marra joined the West Nassau High School athletic staff as the head athletic trainer in 2023 from Long Island, NY. As a three sport high school standout athlete at the collegiate, club, and professional lacrosse levels, Tony realized the parallelisms of athletics and athletic training to expand his career in athletic training and sports medicine orthopedics. Tony is a graduate of LIU Southampton, C.W. Post and Brooklyn campuses, where he received degrees in Environmental Biology, Biology and Masters in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. Tony is dual state board licensed in New York and Florida and serves as the Associate Medical Director and Head Athletic Trainer for New York State and Nassau County, NY High School Wrestling Association. Tony was a Contributing Advisor to the 2012 and 2018 NY State Concussion Management Guidelines Act for secondary schools. In 2017, he was selected by his peers to receive the first "Most Distinguished" ATC Service Award in Nassau County, NY. A sorted guest speaker, his passion is to educated faculty, staff, coaches, athletes, and parents about injury prevention, concussion, flexibility/agility, and nutrition to secure proper foundations. Employed by University of Florida Health, Tony brings 35+ years of experience at the secondary school level with his vision and commitment to Warrior Nation to elevate the quality of care and create new standardized policies and procedures throughout the school district and community sports programs in which he serves. |
